The solenoid valve is an industrial equipment controlled by electromagnetic force, used as a basic component for automation fluid control, belonging to the actuator category. It features a closed chamber with holes in different positions, each connected to different tubing. The middle cavity contains a piston with electromagnets on both sides. When a magnet coil is energized, the valve body is attracted to that side, controlling movement to open or close different oil discharge holes while the oil inlet hole remains typically open.
Hydraulic oil enters different discharge pipes, using oil pressure to push the cylinder piston, which in turn drives the piston rod and mechanical devices. This mechanism allows electromagnetic current control to govern mechanical motion.
Solenoid valves generally have only two switch states, with the spool limited to two positions, preventing continuous adjustment and limiting precision. They require clean media - particles must be filtered out, and viscous media are unsuitable, with specific products having narrow viscosity ranges.
Despite these limitations, solenoid valves offer significant advantages, leading to diverse designs for various applications. Technological advancements focus on overcoming inherent limitations while maximizing their benefits.
